• All rights other than “Opt-out”: You may submit a request using our Privacy Web Form or by contacting us according to the CONTACT US section below.
• Right to “Opt out”: You may exercise “Opt-out” rights by using any of the following methods:
(a) Through our “Your Privacy Choices” link in the footer of our websites. Note that by using this method, your Opt-out choice will be linked to your browser only; therefore, you will need to renew your opt-out choice if you visit our website from a new device or browser, or if you clear your browser’s cookies;
(b) By submitting a Do Not Sell or Share Personal Information request using our Privacy Web Form to turn off “targeted advertising,” “sharing” and “sales” based on your email address.
(c) By broadcasting an Opt-Out preference signal, such as the Global Privacy Control (GPC).
We will review and respond to your request in accordance with applicable privacy laws and the rights in your jurisdiction. These rights are not absolute. We may deny or limit requests where permitted by law, for example, to comply with legal obligations, protect security, prevent fraud, or complete transactions you requested.
Exercising your rights through an agent
Certain states permit you to use an authorized agent to submit a request to know, access, delete, correct or opt out on your behalf. Requests submitted by an authorized agent are subject to identity and authority verification requirements. If you are an authorized agent submitting a request on behalf of a California resident (other than opt-out requests), you may use our Privacy Web Form and make the appropriate selection when submitting the request or use the contact information provided above.
Verification of requests
When you exercise your privacy rights (other than opt-out rights), we may take steps to verify your identity before responding to your request to protect your privacy and security. If we are unable to verify your identity with the degree of certainty required, we may not be able to process your request. In such case, we will notify you to explain the basis of the denial.
Right to lodge a complaint or appeal
If you believe your privacy rights have been infringed upon, you may have the right to lodge a complaint with your local privacy regulator. We would, however, appreciate the chance to deal with your concerns before you approach the relevant authority, so we encourage you to contact us first so we can address your concerns directly. You can reach us at privacyofficer@gildan.com.
Additionally, you may have the right to ask for a review of our decision by contacting us within 30 days of your receipt of our decision through the CONTACT US section.
Managing your Communication Preferences
Emails: If you receive promotional or marketing emails from us, you may opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe mechanism included in those communications (e.g., unsubscribe link in the footer of the email) or, if you have an account, by updating your preferences through your account settings. Please note that if you have subscribed to marketing communications from one or more of our brands, your opt-out will apply only to the specific brand-related communications from which you unsubscribe, unless you choose to unsubscribe from all brand specific communications. Even if you opt out of marketing messages, we may continue to send you non-promotional or transactional emails, including communications relating to your account or ongoing business relations.
SMS: We obtain your consent as required by applicable laws before sending marketing or transactional content via SMS. Message rates may apply and messaging frequency may vary. To revoke consent at any time reply “STOP”, “QUIT”, “END”, “REVOKE”, “OPT OUT”, “CANCEL” or “UNSUBSCRIBE” to any SMS. You can opt-out by following the opt-out or unsubscribe instructions in the message or by contacting us using the information in the CONTACT US section.
11. U.S. STATE SPECIFIC ADDITIONAL DISCLOSURES
California Shine the Light
With reference to California Civil Code Section 1798.83, also known as the “Shine the Light” law, we allow California residents to opt out of the disclosure of personal information to third parties for those third parties’ direct marketing purposes. To exercise that opt-out option, please submit your request to privacyofficer@gildan.com.
Loyalty Programs and Financial Incentives:
We may offer our customers a loyalty program that provides certain perks, such as rewards and exclusive offers. We may also provide other programs, such as sweepstakes, contest, or other similar promotional campaigns (collectively, the “Programs”).
• When you sign up for one of these Programs, we may ask you to provide your name and contact information (such as email address and/or telephone number).
• The categories of third parties that may receive your name and contact information for targeted advertising include online advertising networks, and data enrichment providers.
• We currently do not collect any sensitive Personal Information in connection with the Programs.
• If you request that we delete any of your Personal Information that is essential to providing you with the Programs, we will not be able to provide you with the benefits of that program.
Because our Programs involve the collection of Personal Information, they might be interpreted as a “financial incentive” program under California law. The value of your Personal Information to us is related to the value of the free or discounted products or services, or other benefits that you obtain or that are provided as part of the applicable Program, less the expense related to offering those products, services, and benefits to Program participants.
You may withdraw from participating in a Program at any time by contacting us using the designated method set forth in the applicable Program rules. Visit the terms and conditions page of each Program to view full details, including how to join.
